If you’ve got six browser tabs open comparing resorts right now, this post is for you. Most listings show you a pretty photo of a pool and call it a day — they don’t tell you whether that pool is yours for the weekend or shared with three other groups. That one detail changes the whole trip, and it’s the thing most people forget to ask about until they’ve already paid the deposit.
Types of Private Pools You’ll Find
Not all “private resort” pools work the same way, and the terms get thrown around loosely enough to cause real confusion at check-in.
- Shared infinity pool — an amenity open to every guest booked that day, even at a reservation-only resort. It’s still “private” in the sense that the resort caps total guests, but you’re swimming next to other families, not alone.
- In-room / private bubble pool — attached directly to your specific cabin or villa. Nobody outside your booking uses it. This is the version people usually mean when they search “private pool.”
- Jacuzzi — smaller, usually indoor or semi-outdoor, meant for soaking rather than swimming laps. Some rooms have this instead of or alongside a bubble pool.
The distinction matters because pricing jumps a lot between these three, and “private resort” on its own doesn’t tell you which one you’re getting.
Questions to Ask Before Booking
Ask these before you send a deposit, not after:
- Is the pool exclusive to my group, or shared with other guests booked the same day?
- What’s the pool access schedule? Most resorts run a curfew, usually somewhere between 11pm and midnight, not 24-hour access.
Any resort that hesitates to answer these directly is worth a second look before you book.
What San Rafael River Adventure Offers
Here’s the specific breakdown, because vague marketing copy is exactly what causes complaints at check-in.
We have one shared infinity pool — that’s the amenity open to all guests staying that day, alongside the swimming falls and Floating Pool area. Separately, select accommodations come with their own private bubble pool attached to the room: the Glass Villa, Stilt Glass Cabin, Stilt Glass Cottage, Glass Tree House, Glass Bamboo House, and Glass Cottage. The
Glass Container Cabin does not have its own bubble pool — guests there use the shared infinity pool instead, which is worth knowing if a private pool is the whole point of your trip.
If you’re bringing a big group for a day tour, the kubo cottages are the budget option, built around the shared pool rather than a private one — that’s intentional, since it keeps the per-head cost down for large families and barkada groups.
One honest note on timing: the bubble pools are outdoors and unheated, so a January morning swim is a lot colder than a March afternoon one. If pool weather matters to your trip, plan around the dry season.

Overnight gets you the full day-to-next-day stay; Day/Night Tour is the shorter window if you don’t need to sleep over. If you’re deciding between the two purely on the pool, the overnight rate is worth the difference — the best hour in that bubble pool is 9pm, after the day-trippers on other bookings have gone home and it’s just your group and the river.
Booking Tips
- We’re reservation-only — no walk-ins, so build the drive time into your plan rather than showing up hoping for a room.
- A 50% down payment confirms your booking, due within 24 hours or the pencil-book slot is released automatically.
- Weekday bookings are your best shot at having the infinity pool closer to yourselves, since weekend bookings fill up faster across all room types.
- Traveling with kids? Two years old and under stay free, and ages 3–5 get 50% off — worth factoring into which room size makes sense.
- Pets are welcome, up to two per booking, each under 50lbs — mention it when you reserve so the room fits.
A private pool sounds simple until you’re the one standing at the gate realizing it’s shared with two other families. Ask the specific questions above, check which room actually has the bubble pool attached, and book the overnight if the pool is the reason you’re going.
